Is there an option to own the bike?
If you make 32 months of payments for the same bike, it is yours to keep it at no extra cost.
Alternatively, you can buy the bike from us at any time during your subscription.
How much will it cost to own the bike early?
The price you pay will be calculated by the sum of the monthly payments you've made, deducted from the bike's RRP:
RRP - total payments already made
For example, let's say you have a new Frog 44, the RRP for this bike is £350 and you have made 5 monthly payments of £14.35 already. The calculation would be:
£350 - £71.75 = £278.25 to buy the bike
We hope that this has been helpful. If you'd like to buy your bike, please get in touch with us.
How do I buy the bike from the Bike Club?
If you would like to buy your bike from us, please get in touch. We will look up your subscription details and let you know how much this would cost.
Once we receive confirmation that you would like to go ahead with the purchase, we will cancel your direct debit subscription and place a one-time charge on your direct debit mandate equivalent to this amount. We will then email you to confirm that ownership of the bike has passed to you.
A note about legacy subscriptions
Since we started over three years ago, we have simplified our subscriptions. They all now last for 32 months, regardless of bike type, with no additional cost to buy the bike at the end of the subscription.
Before this, our plans generally had a duration of 21 months for balance bikes; 36 months for road and mountain bikes; and 24 months for all other bikes. Buying the bike at the end of this period cost a one-off payment equivalent to three months' subscription fees.
For these legacy subscriptions, the price to own the bike early is still calculated using the method above, the only difference being the different plan duration.
